Located in the heart of Ghana's shea-producing belt near Tamale and Ligba, the GSA Shea Resource Centre serves as our flagship physical research, development, and training hub. This dedicated facility unites agronomic science, nursery propagation, and practical processor training under one roof.
Designed to accelerate sustainable practices across the region, the centre provides technical support, expert instruction, and innovative processing models to empower cooperatives and commercial stakeholders alike.
Research, Nursery, Training & Innovation
Scientific Research
Conducting ongoing studies on shea tree genetics, kernel oil content optimization, and climate-resistant parkland management in coordination with international agricultural institutions.
Nursery Propagation
Producing high-yielding, fast-maturing shea seedlings to support large-scale parkland restoration and replanting initiatives across West Africa.
Processor Training
Providing hands-on instruction for women cooperatives and local processors on modern extraction techniques, quality control, and hygiene standards.
Value Chain Innovation
Testing new processing equipment, solar-powered roasting units, and energy-efficient technologies to reduce labor and improve environmental sustainability.
Demonstration Farm & Advanced Training Centre
